The Governor of Osun State and governorship candidate under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adegboyega Oyetola, has reacted to results of the election announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) which saw Senator Ademola Adeleke of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) emerge as winner.
The governor stated that the party is still studying the results and will act accordingly after they are done studying it.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ismail Omipidan, Oyetola said he had taken cognisance of the results of the election as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and noted that his party would react after appraising the outcome of the election.
The governor urged the citizens to remain calm and law abiding and to go about their businesses without let or hindrance..
Part of the statement reads; Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has taken cognisance of the results of the governorship election in the state as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Sunday.
“He, however, noted that the party would be responding appropriately after studying the results and consulting with critical stakeholders of the party.
“The governor also called on security operatives to ensure maintenance of law and order. He has, therefore, directed security operatives to take adequate charge so as to prevent break down of law and order.”
