The vice-presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Datti Baba-Ahmed has visited Buckingham Palace, London, to lay flowers in honour of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
According to a tweet by Oseloka Obaze, an LP member, Datti was in London on a “private visit” but visited the palace to pay homage to the late British monarch.
Queen Elizabeth was pronounced dead on Thursday at the age of 96.
Her passing marks an end to a reign that lasted seven decades and made her the longest-serving monarch in Britain.
The announcement of her death was met with tributes from world leaders and Nigerian political actors were not exempted.
Datti was the latest to add his voice to the eulogies for the queen.
“I offer my condolences to the people of the UK. The passing of Her Imperial Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is a loss to Royalty as it is to the people of UK,” he was quoted as saying.
