The National Executive Council of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) will hold an overnight meeting today in Abuja, according to reports.
The meeting which is a meeting of the leadership of the union was convened to allow the leadership of the union take the final decision on the protracted strike.
According to a source, “We will have a meeting today and it will last overnight so that we will be given enough time to deliberate and make a conclusion.”
When asked if the union will call off the strike, the source declined comments.
Yesterday, The branches of ASUU voted to decide whether to end the strike or not.
Recall that ASUU had on Monday, February 14,2022 declared a strike at the University of Lagos. The union had accused the Federal Government of failing to honour some of the agreements reached.
