The People’s Democratic Party through its National Working Committee has falsified a bogus report circulating social media that says the Party’s Chairman has been suspended by the NWC.
According to the statement made by PDP’s spokesman, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the party expressed that the case is absolutely bogus, adding that such is the handiwork of the party’s horrendous enemies of individual powers who are unsettled by the strength, solidarity and popularity of our party under the durable Sen. Dr Ayu-drove National Working Committee.
Hon Ologunagba’s report further affirms that those blending the tales are threatened by the heights of the PDP’s Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidates, His Excellencies, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa individually.
Further making explanations regarding this situation, the PDP said its National Chairman, Sen. Dr. Iyorchia Ayu is on a short vacation beyond the nation and he formally communicated capacity to the Deputy National Chairman (North), His Excellency Amb. Umar Iliya Damagum, to play out his obligations in Acting Capacity, forthcoming his return, in accordance with the provision of the Constitution of the PDP 2017 (as amended).
“It is instructive to express that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was properly educated on the nonappearance regarding our National Chairman and that Amb. Damagun will play out the obligations of the National Chairman in Acting Capacity forthcoming Sen. Dr. Ayu’s return.
For the avoidance of doubt, the PDP and the NWC is united and Sen. Dr. Iyorchia Ayu remains the National Chairman,” the statement briefly read.
The party through Ologunagba’s articulation, encouraged all individuals from the PDP, its overflowing allies, the media and the overall population to ignore the expressed report as “Fake NEWS”.
